Easy ways to help the world, one month at a time

From now on, every month I will post at least one way to help the world in super easy ways. The Internet is a great way to promote action towards great, noble causes. When a click can feed a person, all you know is you want more people to click.

And alas, this is why I have decided to officially post once a month (at the very least) about ways of helping people in poverty and need, or caring for the environment. On going green…but not with envy, in fact, much to the contrary. It worked so well with Aidgle, it’s worth repeating. And repeating.

I propose a toast…to a better world!

EDIT: I will actually list every post so that it’s all neatly organized!

ah, very admirable. Great and touching little idea. Often, on my own terms, I feel guilty that, honestly, I don’t do much for people who are struggling with such simply situations I, (I know this sounds cliche) but inevitably take for granted.

The problem I find is that I not only don’t have time to, say, volunteer, but I hardly have an extra dollar to pitch towards, generally, the needy.

And sure, people want you to help those in need with your time and/or money, but with the cost of living so how, with prices of our own personal necessities growing, it’s a bit much too ask.

Perhaps I’m being selfish, but it’s hard for me to find…opportunity. Each day I wish that I had the motivation to really do something…and I mean DO something to help people in need of assistance…anyone. But I end up getting off work all day and falling asleep with my clothes on (blogging if I have time).

In short, maybe you’ll have some legitimate “tips” on how to be a better person that doesn’t infringe on my own “selfish” desires. :-)

Hey there Ryan C:
I know exactly what you mean, because I see it all the time in myself and in other people. Life is like a whirlwind and it traps you and soon enough it all revolves around yourself and what’s directly next to you.

That’s why it’s good to read the news and stay updated…it really widens horizons.
And yes, even if there’s fair trade coffee and cocoa and stuff like that in some countries (not where I live, sadly), people don’t buy them because they’re a few cents more expensive. I guess that’s what you call your own selfish desires :) .

Anyway, for you and for anyone who wants to make even the slightest difference I’ve made this section. I think you’ll particularly like my latest post on Free Rice, considering you enjoy writing. It’s like a little vocabulary test, and for every answer you get right, you gain rice grains that are donated to the World Food Programme. REALLY neat!

So check out my post on that, I shall dedicate it to you!
